Love that is Greater than that of a Mother's

A mother's love is wonderful. Mothers love sacrificially and at times their love is undeserved. Mothers love through thick and thin. Through highs and lows. It is endless and unselfish. It is patient and forgiving.

However, there is a love that is immeasurably greater than a mother's love.

The love of God.

While mother's love their own children, God loved us who were His enemies. We in our sin and imperfection have fallen short of God's perfection.

Despite this, God loves us with a most undeserved love. God made the greatest sacrifice to demonstrate His love when He sent His beloved Son to the cross to die for our sins. The bible says this about God's love in 1 John chapter 4:

God is love. In this the love of God was demonstrated toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

On a day when we celebrate Mothers and their love, do not forget about the greatest love, the Love of God.
